Located on Bay Lake, the resort has its own marina, where guests can rent sailboats and pontoon boats, or enjoy fishing excursions, parasailing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing (local charge payable). There are also two outdoor pools on site—including one in the shape of Mickey’s ears—as well as a second pool, spa tubs, a playground and an arcade.Six clay tennis courts and sand volleyball courts are available, and the fitness center has Cybex and cardiovascular equipment as well as a dry sauna. With the spires of Cinderella Castle in view, this resort offers theme-park transportation and a marina with lots of watersports.

Guests at Disney’s Contemporary Resort can take advantage of the Extra Magic Hour for an extra hour of “magic” each day. Each day one of Disney’s four major theme parks opens an hour early, exclusively for resort guests. Guests should check with guest services to learn which park is offering the Extra Magic Hour on any given day. Those who wish to take advantage must present valid theme-park tickets and resort ID. Resort guests can also take advantage of the complimentary motor coach transportation throughout the resort.

The 36-hole Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park are both six miles from the resort via complimentary Disney transportation. The resort’s guest service desk can assist with reservations on any one of Disney’s five PGA tour–caliber golf courses, all located on Walt Disney World Resort property. A 9-hole walking course is also available.
