- Disney Deluxe Resort
- Unique African theme
- Set amidst a wildlife reserve
- Complimentary transport around the resort
Two miles west of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, this beautiful lodge-style African-themed resort is set within a 43-acre savannah on which exotic animals graze. It’s Africa in the middle of Walt Disney World® at this unique resort where guests can swim in a pool not far from giraffes and tiny gazelles, and watch antelope roam from tall lobby windows.
This unique resort is reminiscent of a wildlife reserve in the African savannah. Guests are greeted on arrival in a three-story lobby with a crackling fireplace, hand-carved wood furniture and authentic African artifacts. As the sun sets, two outdoor patios flanking the lobby provide close-up views of exotic animals, including giraffes, ostriches, impalas and zebras.
Folks also gather at the large zero-entry pool; its gently sloping entrance is handy for young children and guests who don’t have full mobility. A 67-foot-long slide zips swimmers into the centre with a splash. There’s also a children’s pool, 24-hour playground, game arcade and two spa tubs on site.
With two fabulous award-winning restaurants serving delicious and flavoursome African cuisine, a casual all-day American-style restaurant and two bars on site, there are plenty of options for eating and drinking.
Supervised children's activities take place at Simba’s Cubhouse, while adults can take advantage of the two well-equipped fitness centres on site. Guests of all ages can enjoy venturing off on a cultural safari or watch the animals roaming about the savannah.
