Florida Keys Holidays. Florida Keys is made up of a string of thousands and thousands of islands but less than fifty are actually lived in. They are strung together by a 120 mile roadway. The further south from Miami you explore, the more beautiful it gets and you feel like you are on an island tour. Being at the tip of Florida, Key West is most famous for the Florida Reef which is a long stretch of living coral. It has some truly amazing marine life with dolphins and loggerhead turtles. Key West is also a hotspot for watersports, fishing, snorkling and areas of stunning natural beauty and hikes through the scenic alligator parks. Key Largo is the largest of the ‘Keys’ having 170 acres of land, 75 square miles of ocean and is one of the ‘Upper Keys’. The Keys’ has a well deserved reputation for it's brilliant underwater life. The Keys are warm and somewhat humid but not too hot and usually cooler than Miami, with the thunderstorm season starting towards the end of May. The nature trials are ecologically fascinating and a must if you do take a holiday to the Keys'. There are lots on offer but the best of these is undoubtedly the Wild Tamarind Nature Trail, a 20 minute walk through beatiful scenery and tropical trees.
