Be sure to see Aiken- Rett House on Elizabeth Street which is the only surviving urban plantation house. It can tell you lots about antebellum life and the lives slaves led.
The Aquarium Wharf surrounds Liberty Square and has the fantastic South Carolina Aquarium.
